Find your inspiration for writing by exploring the great outdoors and local history.
Two mates from Manchester basically. One loves writing, one loves nature. Together we thought, if people want to write about it, shouldn't they know a bit about it first? And thus, our idea was born. A walking tour, with a knowledgable guide, who can explain what you see, and a writer, who can teach you to express what you know.
I started with a blog, Wanderers Nook. A passion project to help other's get into my hobbies of hiking and exploring. When I moved to Manchester, I was annoyed at how little green space there is. Slowly, I learnt the rail lines, bus routes and Metrolink lines, and now I've walked hundreds of miles around Greater Manchester.
From trees, to plants, some folklore around them, I try to share everything I've learnt from my explorations and working with the RHS and National Trust. And after a walk with Ruby, I help people channel nature into their creativity.
View my blogI’m a writer based in Manchester and since completing my Creative Writers Masters in 2020, my writing has been nominated for various prizes including the Northern Writers Awards and has been published in the Manchester Mill and The Fence.
Over the last year, I've delivered writing workshops for organisations such as Levenshulme Old Library and Partisan Collective, and after walking with Nathaniel for a research project with the Arts Council, this inspired me to try and get more writers to use nature as a jumping-off point.
